Northern Cape Coast

Dear Andre

I cannot help but agree with you about all the bleating, so when are the powers that be going to listen? A good example is MCM, they have one inspector, he covers the whole of the Northern Cape Coast from Groen River till the Orange River. He is very, very close to retirement, so not as active as he used to be. He gets minimal back up from his department, only when they want to come on a "joll" do they send three inspectors to make sure the few privately owned sea farms have their permits stuck on the wall ( being in a folder at the office is illegal ).

To try and assist, several of us have offered our services to the one and only inspector, but his superiors do not think he needs any help and do not even have the decency to inform us that our services are not required. Further, if ( I have tried) we try and stop or inform the perpetrators, we get beaten up or ridiculed, and sit with a medical bill and the law enforcment officers insist that we are the instigators of the problem.

As I understand it, MCM are also responsible for keeping vehicles off the beaches and dunes.

I hope no serious poachers read this mail, as they are likely to start coming here to poach, nobody to stop them.

Re: Northern Cape Coast

Ah please! Let them try and poach anything in Kleinzee...Tried to poach an old seal bone once on a mine tour there...nearly ended up in
handcuffs. Anyway poachers are probably too busy ACTING without analysis paralysis...so, no worries in that department. No seriously, the situation is more than bizarre and fit for a write up in some satirical mag.

COMATOSE INSPECTORS ON JOLL HAVE PRESTICK WILL TRAVEL

Tell me, who pays the soon to be retired Environmental Inspector? Is it MCM? Is MCM part of the government? Who are the big THEY??? The Powers That Be? Art thou proposing some vigilante-ism?

Tell all about those awful punching perps, and the accusing lawmen. Look forward to the next installment!
